In Loving Memory of
Julie Doody
Aug 5, 1988 - July 24, 2002

Join us for the 10th Annual "Friday For Julie" Walk

Everyone please plan on attending this year's Friday for Julie Walk & Fundraiser to be held on Friday, July 27, 2012. It will be a special time as we celebrate Julie's life and remember her by raising money to fund research and continue to financially assist families fighting leukemia and other blood cancers.

This Foundation was established in the memory of Julianne Doody, a 13-year-old girl who died in July of 2002, less than 14 weeks after being diagnosed with acute myelogenous leukemia, AML, a very aggressive form of leukemia.

The For Julie Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization committed to raising funds to assist in the battle against leukemia and other blood cancers. We are all volunteers who donate our effort and time in the belief that leukemia and all blood cancers can be eliminated as a major cause of death in children.

Our main method of fundraising remains our "Friday for Julie" Walk and Fundraiser. You can pre-register for this years walk by clicking here. If you can not attend our walk this year, please consider helping us to continue to achieve our goals by making a donation click here to donate.

Newsmakers covers our For Julie Foundation in 2010.

We want to thank all those who have joined us for our walks over these last 9 years. Last year we raised over $95,000. As we celebrate our 10th year, we have now surpased over $1,000,000. Please help us as we continue our efforts to eliminate leukemia and other blood cancers as the leading cause of death of children in the United States.

We are 100% volunteer-based, all funds raised are used to find and provide funding to innovative research projects and, at the same time, provide financial assistance to families burdened with the exorbitant costs of fighting cancer.

Start of our 2009 Walk with the balloon launch.

Each year the For Julie Foundation tries to award at least $50,000 in grants to a research institutions and/or hospitals. Within the last year, we have awarded two grants; one for $30,000 and one for $20,000 dedicated specifically for AML Research, as well as a grant to the Ronald McDonald House in Oak Lawn. We have awarded over $700,000 in research grants to date. We continue to use the remaining funds to assist families affected by blood cancers. We have helped 90 families to date, including 10 families since last year's walk.
