A RECORD BREAKING NIGHT!
This year's 3rd Annual ALL IN FOR JULIE Texas Hold ‘em Tournament was an amazing success. 100 players (a new record) came to the Orland Park Civic Center hoping to be crowned the 2010 champion. Play began at 4:45PM and just 13 short minutes later we had our first player, John Palmer, knocked out of the tournament (also a record). Five hours later, the final table was set with Bobby Neylon (2009 runner up), Mike Grzelak, John Kot, Dan Stapleton, Jason Pepsnik, Don Kustok, Tricia Quirk, and Mike Contreras.
It wasn’t long before it was down to the final two. Tricia Quirk, who just one year earlier was the first player eliminated after 20 minutes of play, was up against Mike Contreras for the title. Mike Contreras prevailed and was crowned 2010 ALL IN FOR JULIE Texas Hold ‘em Champion. Mike was thrilled with his 1st Place prize, a trip to Las Vegas. Congratulations Mike!(The 2010 Order of Finish)
Thanks to the generosity of the players and non players, this year’s event raised over $8,000, a new record. This money will be well spent fighting blood cancers and helping those families who have a loved one fighting these cancers.
To all the volunteers who helped make this a record breaking event, THANK YOU.
We hope to see you all at next year’s event.
